What this notice covers

This notice describes how we handle information in connection with visiting this Site and contacting us by email. It does not govern separate products or services (for example SKUWorks, Tab Sheriff, or Hurtl), which may have their own notices.

Information we process

  • Site visit data. When you load this Site, our hosting infrastructure and related services may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, request time, and referring URL, for security and performance.
  • Email. If you email us, we process your email address, message content, and any information you include (for example your name or company).

Why and how we use information (UK & EU)

Where UK GDPR and/or EU GDPR apply, we rely on appropriate lawful bases such as legitimate interests (operating and securing the Site, responding to enquiries) and/or contract / steps at your request, and where required your consent.

We do not use this Site to profile visitors or make solely automated decisions with legal or similar effects.

Processors and services

We use trusted service providers to deliver the Site. Categories typically include:

  • Hosting — infrastructure that stores and serves the Site and may keep server logs for security and reliability.
  • Email the service that receives and delivers messages sent to hello@distributedbydesign.io.
  • Fonts this Site may load fonts from Google Fonts; Google may receive technical data such as IP address as part of that request.
  • Analytics (optional) — if you choose "Accept analytics" in our cookie preferences, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, depending on region) to measure how the Site is used (for example pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP). International transfers

Your data may be processed in the UK, the EEA, the US, or other countries where providers operate. Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, security, and business requirements. Server logs are usually kept for a limited period defined by the host; emails are kept according to our ordinary business and legal needs.

We do not sell personal information for money through this Site. If we introduce advertising or analytics that constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, we will update this notice and provide any required controls.

Other US states. You may have similar rights under your state's law (for example access, deletion, correction, opt-out of targeted advertising or sales in some states). Submit requests using the contact details below; we will verify and respond as required by applicable law.

Non-discrimination / non-retaliation. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights where that prohibition applies.

Appeals. Where required, you may appeal our response to your request by contacting us at the email below and stating "Privacy appeal" in the subject line.

Children

This Site is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information for marketing through the Site.

Security
